On July 1, 2008, Adobe announced steps to solve non-indexing of Flash based content by search engines by providing Google and Yahoo! with software that will make indexing and searching of Flash based pages and content possible.

Moreover, Google has announced that it has launched a "Flash indexing algorithm", which will result in better search results, so far as Flash based content is concerned.

This double treat is great news for all those Flash loving designers who always have had great ideas around Flash, but were feeling restricted because of search engine related problems.

Time to celebrate guys, Yippeeee

Thing is its not just due to SEO that I think they suck, they are just genrally notuser freindly people are used to the genrally universl way in which normal websites work, flash sites are a totally different animal.

Even I give up trying to use most flash websites as it takes so long just to figure out what you have to do to make them work.

I will admit I have seen the odd great site done in flash but the majority of them are terrible and a total waste of the users time waiting for them to load and to figure out how to use them.

Personally I would love to see Flash websites binned altogether but that aint gonna happen.

The ink between the flash and the search engine is of great use for the design lovers as they will be able to explore more option and feature and so on.

i still prefer to have a website without any flash. if needed, a small flash element will be ok. the reason is because even if the search engines can start to index flash files, it's not as strong SEO as html.

I agree.small flash works is good..but html is far more better when it comes to SEO
