Social Bookmarking, Yes, No?

Hello BZImage members, in this article we will discuss what Social Bookmarking can do for your websites!

To start off with, what is social bookmarking, everyone seems to have their own opinion on this, but the plain and simple fact is that Social Bookmarking is exactly what it sounds like. Its Social in that anyone and everyone participates, and bookmarking in that its like adding a website to a online favorites list for your friends and colleagues to look at.

This form of bookmarking helps increase traffic to websites, and helps get links for your site which up Page Rank, and Page Strength!

Their are tons of Social Bookmarking sites out their, but the most popular to date are Delicious and Stumble Upon. If you get your site bookmarked a couple hundred times in these two sites, you can expect to receive a steady flow of traffic for years to come. Our site BZImage has tons of these.

One thing to keep in mind is that you do not need to be web savvy to social book mark, in-fact both of these services now have toolbar ad-ons for nearly every browser so you can just click a button and add the website your are currently visiting to your bookmarked list. Some even allow you to give the site a rating.

I agree completely, although i think that social bookmarking sites need to be strictly monitored - after all its not so hard for you to go to a specific forum and request that your specific url is stumbled (so as to increase popularity. That being said Digg has already noticably banned and removed accounts connected with this sort of activity.
