Is PR still important?

I'm just curious. Is it still important? Or can you measure a blog/website's popularity through PR?

for me website's popularity is measured through the quality of its content, the traffic it obtains and also if you are looking for building links. relevance is the best metrics. PR on the other hand is not that much important nowadays.

I must disagree PR is not important at all. If what you are saying is true. Please explain how PR 1 sites are on page one for a keyword and PR6 sites are on page 33 for the same key word.

I think PR is used to show the importance of web page. Its a one kind of measurement and it gauges the value of the web page.

I don't think it is important it seems to be devalued more and more each month. I've noticed a big decrease in PR on many sites but they still rank well in the SERPs - so I'm guessing that it has less important on Google. I think they are valuing some nofollow links as well.

Yes it is! I believe that having a good PR means you have a good reputation. It serves as a good qualities in a websites. A good advantage especially in doing link exchanges.

I am still unsur eif PR is the bee all and end all. Plenty of sites at No.1 in Google with PR0 and only a few page backlinks. It's easy to hit page one on google with the right keywords and good SEO

I dont know with others but PR is very important to me . I feel bad if I dont gain any PR coz your blogs and site needs to be known in search engine in order to reach out more people and it is really fulfilling to find pagerank in your site

For me, PR is important. But Traffic and SERPs ranking are more important than PR alone.

PR alone gives authority to a certain site. It gives a value to your site. The larger the value, the higher its value to SEs. The crawl time is more frequent as well.
